Since the island is situated in the British Virgin Islands, the climate can only be described as tranquil and perfect.  With a constant breeze, you have the cool winds at night, and the warm sun during the day.  Rain does come during the morning or early evening during the summer months, but in short showers sure to refresh you.

Necker Island is in the British Virgin Islands nearest to Virgin Gorda and Beef Island/Tortola.  Flying into Beef Island and taking a high speed private boat, owned by Sir Richard Branson, will find you in Necker Island in just a few minutes.  This is all done before sundown so plan on flying to Beef Island early in the morning or afternoon.   You can also charter your own private helicopter to bring you directly to the island if you so choose. 

The currency is US Dollars, although on this island no money is needed.  The payment can be done with a credit card, but everything else is included.  If you choose to take a day trip to one of the other islands you will need cash but here, they want you to feel relaxed and have a stress free vacation.  Make sure that you check your local exchange rates before you go, as there are not many places to exchange currency on the island.

Sir Richard Branson is the king of the entrepreneurs but here is a man on a vacation, and expects everyone else to be the same.  There is one phone and Internet access for business expectations, but in the rooms there is just the ocean sounds.  So, if you need to stay in contact with family or business back home, it is recommended that you check to make sure you either have cell phone service or that you are able to use a phone or internet on neighboring islands.

The island accommodates 26 to 28 people, all of which stay at The Great House including the main suite suitable for royalty, and the 1-bedroom cottages located on the baseline of the resort.  The Bali cottages are within walking distance of The Great House but offer a bit more privacy.  They each include your own private dining area and balcony for lunches on the ocean or for entertaining. 

Necker Island is an informal affair, and for that reason everything is extremely relaxed.  There is no need for formal attire unless attending one of the many extravagant parties thrown for the guests by Sir Richard Branson.  You can never go wrong with plenty of sunscreen and sunglasses to sit out on the beach for hours. 

The Island is a water sports lovers dream.  They offer instruction on water skiing, windsurfing, sailing, wakeboarding, and sea kayaking.  For the less active water lovers, they over swimming pools, and even have aqua trampoline for children to enjoy, as well as the adults.  The Beach Pavilion is the place to meet up in the evening, and houses one of the most stunning pools in the BVI’s.  There is a swim up bar for nightcaps, and a waterfall for your enjoyment.  Included in the pavilion is the Crocodile Pavilion where you can enjoy fresh food from the kitchen.  Beach barbeques are also set up on a daily basis for lunch and dinner on the beach.  Bali Laha is the premier spa for barefoot luxury to revive your soul accompanied by the sounds of the ocean waves.
